Denomination: Terre Siciliane Typical Geographical Indication
Production area: Western Sicily, in Contrada Santa Maria in Racalmuto, province of Agrigento
Vineyard: from a single plot of 1,700 vines, owned by Franco and Luigi Burruano, planted in 1994, southwest-facing; trained with pergola system, Guyot pruning, and a yield of about 9,000 kg per hectare
Soil: vineyard altitude 550 m a.s.l.; medium-textured calcareous soil with portions of clay
Climate: mild winters; dry, breezy summers with strong temperature variations between day and night
Vinification: fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks with skin maceration for about 10 days at a temperature of 24–26 °C; after malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 8 months in tanks and then in the bottle for at least another 5 months
Analytical data: alcohol 13.42 % vol, total acidity 5.40 g/l, pH 3.59
